Hair dye..astrology....and socio-political analysis.

i'm at the hairdresser... yes, this is my beauty shop diary entry!

I joined a really big—and very interesting—conversation. One client was using a surprisingly detailed analysis to try and convince us that everything in life can be predicted and explained through astrology!

It made me wonder: what do we really think about the supernatural, and why do we want it in our lives? What is this deep need we have to know our future? I think most of us have checked our weekly horoscope at least once. Others go further, seeing fortune tellers or reading tarot cards.

To me, when someone becomes obsessed with these things, it comes down to a desire for control—a wish to predict everything so there are no unpleasant surprises. We ask for someone’s zodiac sign, but what’s the point? It feels like we're just trying to put people into little boxes in our minds so we know what to expect, while ignoring far more important things about who they actually are. Can a personality really be that simple? Surely there's much more to a person than just saying, "Oh, that attitude is such a Leo thing."

Or do we just use general frameworks to make sense of the world around us? It reminds me of ancient civilizations: back then, people didn't understand earthquakes, so they explained them as the anger of the gods and offered sacrifices to appease them.

Today, it feels like we do the exact same thing. People see major political shifts and say, 'Oh my god, look at what’s happening—it’s because Kronos has entered Pisces!' Instead of spending time analyzing real, complex issues, we settle for superficial explanations that have no actual substance.

And yet, despite thinking about all of this, I’m still off to read my horoscope today! At the end of the day, I just want a little sparkle and magic in my life—rather than having every single thing logically and scientifically explained.

Where do you draw the line when it comes to bringing a bit of magic into your life? Is it just checking a horoscope, visiting a fortune teller, or maybe trying hypnosis. I'm looking forward to hearing your stories!
